Monster Hunter tri Review

(Hello, I seem to have forgot to make an intro for this one, so please, forgive me.)

Monster Hunter tri(3) is a game where CapCom decided not to be cheap and actually put some effort into it. The game is beautifully made with stunning graphics for any console. In this game, you are a hunter who, of course, needs to supply food and ressources for the tribe. The game has a bit of an RPG style to it which i really think is cool. The one thing that really stands out to me in this game is the fact that you have an entire overworld and the main prey is 'Mogas'. Mogas are monsters that are sometimes really tough. But boy is it worth it. By carving materials from their bodies, you can recieve items that you can
 A.) sell.
 B.)Make armor/weapons with.
or C.) keep them and combine to make better items.
Though this game may seem like it's a bit linear and doesn't offer much variety, give it a bit of time and you'll be satisfied. Eventually, you'll get a bunch of quests that are sometimes optionnal and sometimes not. You can do them, or you can be like me and quit the mission once you get the materials to sell 'em. With  said materials, you can make armor (which I already mentionned) but some of it is super cool. Check some of them out!

I'm not even scratching the surface with these awesome pics! More like lightly touching...Wait a minute! Did I mention that the opening scene looks more like a movie than a game? it's true! check it out!

You may be wondering why I haven't touched on the story yet. Well, that's because the story is really boring and not intriguing at all. There's a Monster known as the Largiacrus (which was in the opening cinematic) he is the largest monster to live in the water and he's apparently causing a whole lot of trouble for the village. So of course, you're sent out to hunt it down and kill it. Well he is hard as... What? I can't say that on the blog? Well how the heck was I supposed to know? Anyways, while talking about bosses, there's a Multiplayer mode to fight mosters in the arena. Kind of reminds me of boss battles from Brawl. Some of the bosses are extremely hard and overpowered in every way.
(I'm looking at you Barroth.)

I personnally spent over a half-hour straight fighting him with my brother Kustom David and we still coudn't beat him.
Well, since I'm already on the subject of the flaws in the game, I might as well point out some more.
One, when you go to carve an animal, you can be three feet away from it or go through it while it's dead. Two, While you talk to certain people in the village (like the village elder) they sometimes yell out gibberish for no reason. WTF???!! three, when you go on a quest, you sail on a boat to travel about 20 metres. Why? Four and possibly the biggest mistake. The online mode is extremely overcomplicated and divided into too many things. Speaking of the multiplayer mode, it will be terminated on march 1st 2013.
Though, this game does redeem itself in one crucial area... The sound effects! they are magnificent and I never once got annoyed or felt out of place with these! A/5

So, despite it's flaws, this game pulls through in many other categories and easily deserves a score of 8.5 on 10 with a Badass seal from me.

Peace!
